Wrath of the Lich King D&D 5e Campaign
Mana Burn
3RD NECROMANCY
Casting Time: 1 action
Range/Area: 30 feet
Components: V, S
Duration: Instantaneous
Attack/Save: Intelligence saving throw
Description: You tear at the magical reserves of one creature within range.
The target must make an Intelligence saving throw.
On a failed save, it takes:
4d6 Shadow damage
If the creature has spell slots, it must also expend one of its lowest-level available spell slots.
If the target has no spell slots but possesses another limited magical resource determined by the DM, such as charges or a pool used to fuel spells, the DM may instead cause it to expend one appropriate use of that resource.
On a successful save, the creature takes half as much Shadow damage and loses no magical resource.
Mana Burn has no additional effect on creatures that possess no magical resources.
Using a Higher-Level Spell Slot: The Shadow damage increases by:
1d6
for each spell slot above 3rd.
